Please join us on Monday, October 9, to hear from two Wisconsin redistricting leaders who will be in the courtroom when The U.S. Supreme Court hears oral arguments in Wisconsin’s case, Gill v. Whitford, on October 3.
You’ll hear from two people with ringside seats:
Doug Poland, co-lead trial counsel, Gill v. Whitford
Sachin Chheda, founder of Fair Elections Project and lawsuit strategist
SPONSOR: The Fair Maps Education Fund
What is the Fair Maps Education Fund?
The nonpartisan Fund is part of the 501(c)3 Fair Elections Project. Our goal is to create clear, fun video messages that explain gerrymandering in a way that makes people throughout Wisconsin care and advocate for a nonpartisan, independent process to draw legislative maps. Because no matter what the Supreme Court decides, its ruling will not solve how maps are drawn in Wisconsin. So long as the legislature draws the maps, boundaries will favor the majority party.
Money raised by the Fair Maps Education Fund will be used to produce and distribute video messages through social and traditional media. We need to engage as many networks as possible – friends, neighbors, churches, other nonprofits and community groups – so that they can work for reform with their elected officials.
